September 2020 Updates

A new season is upon us (be it the fall/autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, or the spring in the Southern Hemisphere)—and with it comes some updates! Read below for more information.

First, our annual report for 2019 to 2020 is now available online! Check it out.

As with previous years’ reports, this report is a wonderful way to learn what Starfish does, including specific examples of how students have been assisted through our programming. It also shows how the donations of our wonderful supporters has been used to achieve this!

Instead of the last week of September, our annual virtual scavenger hunt will take place on the first week of October. It will also be slightly shorter than past years’ scavenger hunts. Nonetheless, it still should be a fun way for members of the Starfish community across the globe to enjoy themselves and raise funds for Starfish!

Visit our scavenger hunt webpage to learn more.

Did you miss our annual spring benefit (which took place virtually in April 2020) but you want to know more about what Starfish does? Or, do you want to learn more about Ecuadorian culture? Or, are you interested in channeling a competitive nature with donating to Starfish by bidding in a virtual silent auction? You’re in luck: We have a new event called Starfish Connections scheduled for October 24th!

This virtual event will especially be aimed towards engaging current and potential supporters of Starfish who reside outside the Baltimore, Maryland area in the United States. However, all interested people are warmly invited to join us!

Speaking of our annual spring benefit, leave your calendars open for April 2021! Once again, this event will take place virtually, instead of in person in Baltimore, out of an abundance of caution due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The final date and time are still TBD (to be determined). Please note that we will make sure it will continue to include fun activities and updates on our programming, plus the perennially accompanying virtual silent auction!

This virtual event will especially be aimed towards engaging current and potential supporters of Starfish who reside within or near the Baltimore, Maryland area in the United States. However, all interested people are warmly invited to join us!

Visit our virtual benefit webpage to keep an eye on details for this event, which will be posted on that webpage as soon as they become available.
